About Precimill

Precimill is a cutting tool manufacturer. We grind solid carbide and indexable tools in house, hold the grinding set-up for OEM programmes so repeat batches match, and supply the tool, holder and collet as a verified set. We are a manufacturer, not a trading company or a marketplace.

This page describes what we do, how we work with the brands and distributors who buy from us, and what we deliberately do not claim. If you are evaluating us as a supplier, the useful sections are the ones on how geometry revisions are controlled and what happens when a batch does not meet specification.

How we work

We are set up for buyers who need a specified geometry reproduced reliably across repeated batches, rather than for one-off purchases of whatever is on the shelf.

  • Drawings and samples are reviewed by an engineer before a quotation is given
  • Geometry revisions are frozen and recorded, so a repeat batch matches the batch you validated
  • Grinding set-ups are held for OEM programmes rather than rebuilt for each order
  • Catalogue items are held in stock and quoted immediately
  • Inspection scope is agreed at drawing approval, not after delivery
  • Tool, holder and collet are verified as an assembled set where we supply all three

What we manufacture in house

Solid carbide drilling and milling tools, indexable turning inserts, taps and thread mills, boring systems, and the holders, collets and workholding that support them. Coatings are applied by qualified coating partners and their process data is supplied with the batch.

Working with OEM and ODM customers

A large share of our production carries somebody else's brand. That shapes how we work: drawings are held under NDA as a matter of course, we do not market a customer's geometry under our own name, and we do not approach their customers.

For ODM programmes the geometry is developed jointly against the operation, a trial batch is produced, and only then is the revision frozen for production.

What we do not claim

Being clear about limits saves both sides time. We will decline an order we cannot support properly.

Scope limits
AreaPosition
CertificationsWe state our current certification status in writing on request. We do not imply a certification we do not hold.
TolerancesWe do not quote a tolerance we cannot inspect with traceable equipment.
Customer referencesWe do not name OEM customers or show their tooling without written permission.
Reviews and ratingsWe do not publish rating or review mark-up without a verified review source.
Machine and capacity figuresWe publish only the figures that appear in our capability summary.

Quality control

Quality on a cutting tool is decided before the first grind: the right carbide grade, a grinding set-up that repeats, and an inspection scope agreed with the customer.

Critical dimensions are measured with calibrated equipment traceable to national standards. Where a batch does not meet specification we tell you, and the remedy is replacement or credit rather than renegotiation.

Frequently asked questions

Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?

We grind in house, which is why we can answer geometry and tolerance questions directly and hold a set-up across repeated OEM batches. Coating is carried out by qualified coating partners, and their process data is supplied with the tools.

What certifications do you hold?

Ask us and we will give the current position in writing. We would rather state accurately what we hold than let you assume a certification we do not have, because your own audit will find out either way.

Can we visit or audit your facility?

Yes, and for customers planning a repeating OEM programme it is a sensible step. Tell us the audit scope in advance so the relevant records, drawings and inspection equipment are available on the day.

Do you supply tools under our own brand?

Yes. Tools are ground to your drawing, marked with your branding, packed in your packaging and shipped without our branding. We do not approach your customers, and drawings are held under NDA as standard.

How do you handle a batch that fails inspection?

It does not ship. We contact you with the measured values, the likely cause and the proposed remedy, which is normally replacement or credit, and we agree the new date with you rather than leaving it open.

Tell us the operation, get a tool recommendation

Send the operation, the workpiece material and its hardness, the machine interface and the diameter and depth you need. We reply within 8 working hours with a geometry, substrate and coating recommendation, and for specials a drawing for approval before anything is ground.

Tool drawings and part numbers can be emailed to sales@precimill.com. We reply within 8 working hours. We do not share customer drawings or tooling with other customers.
